Medrive - Unlimited Cloud Storage & Backup – Privacy Policy
1. What Medrive is
Medrive - Unlimited Cloud Storage & Backup is a file manager for Windows (with mobile versions in progress). It organizes your files inside a private Telegram channel you own ("My Drive") and optional shared Telegram groups ("Shared Drives"). File bodies are sent as Telegram document messages. Small description messages keep track of folders, names, and moves.
Store page: Medrive on Microsoft Store. Medrive is an independent app by Reeshabh and is not affiliated with Telegram.
2. Information we collect
We do not operate an account server and do not receive your files. The following stays on your device and in your Telegram account:
- Telegram login: your API ID, API hash, phone number, login code, 2FA password (if any), and session. You enter these once to connect. They are saved only in your local app folder on your device.
- Your files and folders: file contents, file names, folder structure, and photo-backup queue. File bodies live in your Telegram channel/group. A local copy (SQLite database) on your device helps the app open quickly.
- Encryption password: if you turn on private-drive encryption, your vault password and keys stay in your device memory only until the app closes or you lock the vault. There is no password reset. We cannot unlock it for you.
- Settings: theme choice, drive choice, backup folders, mount settings.
- Free-trial check: for the one-time 7-day free trial only, the app asks a small Medrive service whether your Telegram account has already used the trial. That request carries a read-only access token and your Telegram account number, and nothing else. It never carries your files, your messages, or your Telegram session.
- Purchase info: if you buy Premium Yearly (a recurring subscription) or Premium Lifetime (a one-time purchase), the Microsoft Store handles the payment. Microsoft bills the Microsoft account signed in on your PC. We never receive your card number, your bank details, or your Microsoft account password. The app learns only whether a valid licence for the add-on is present, so it can unlock Premium features.
We do not ask for your contacts, location, browsing history, or advertising ID.
3. How your data is used
- To sign you into your own Telegram account and show your drives.
- To upload, download, sync, stream, and back up files you choose.
- To remember your settings and keep the app working after restart.
- To check your Premium / trial status — the free trial with the Medrive trial service, and Premium with the Microsoft Store — and show or hide Premium features.
We do not use your data for ads, do not sell it, and do not share it with data brokers.
4. Telegram services
When you use Medrive, your device talks directly to Telegram's servers using Telegram's rules. Telegram's own Privacy Policy and API Terms also apply. Do not edit or delete the small TDX1|... messages in your drive channel with the Telegram app — they are the app's record of your folders.
5. Photo and video backup
If you turn on backup, the app reads only the folders you pick and uploads copies into your own drive. Originals stay on your device. Backup needs your permission to read files, and on phones it works mainly while the app is open. You can stop or remove a backup folder at any time; already-uploaded copies stay in your drive until you delete them.
6. Free trial and Premium
- 7-day free trial: starts only after you sign in with your phone number for the first time. Full Premium features are open during those 7 days. If you have used the trial before on the same account, you will see the paywall at once instead of a new trial.
- Two options after trial: (1) Premium Yearly, a recurring subscription that renews each year, or (2) Premium Lifetime, a one-time purchase with no renewal. Both unlock the same Premium features.
- Payment is handled by the Microsoft Store, not by us. Microsoft charges the Microsoft account signed in on your PC, using a payment method saved in that account. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- Renewal and cancellation: Premium Yearly renews automatically each year through Microsoft. You can cancel or change it at any time in your Microsoft account under Services & subscriptions, or in the Microsoft Store app under Library. If you cancel, Yearly keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds and billing support are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Store refund policy. If something looks wrong, contact us and we will help you raise it with Microsoft.
- Microsoft's own Privacy Statement also applies to the purchase, because Microsoft processes the payment and holds the licence.
- If the trial or Premium ends, your files stay safe in your Telegram account. Only Premium buttons become locked.
Premium unlocks: unlimited drives, big files up to 40 GB (app splits into parts and joins on download), automatic sync with on/off switch, all 17 theme palettes, and priority support.
7. Data storage and security
- Desktop data folder:
%AppData%\MeDrive\(config, session, local database, logs). Mobile builds use private app storage. - Private-drive file contents can be encrypted on your device before sending (XChaCha20-Poly1305). Names, sizes, and folder layout are not encrypted.
- No method is 100% safe. Keep your device locked, keep your API hash and vault password private, and keep a second copy of important files outside Telegram.
8. Children
Medrive is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Your choices
- Delete the app's local data by signing out / resetting the app, or by deleting the folder above.
- Delete cloud copies by deleting files inside Medrive or your Telegram channel.
- Turn off backup, mount, or auto-start from Settings at any time.
- Cancel a Premium Yearly subscription in your Microsoft account under Services & subscriptions, or in the Microsoft Store app under Library.

10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new date and version here and in the app/store listing.
